WHO WE ARE

Founded in 1987, the Willis Youth Athletic Association (WYAA) is a volunteer-run organization dedicated to serving the youth in our community through the love of baseball. Managed by a passionate group of volunteers, WYAA aims to provide a positive and supportive environment where young athletes can grow both on and off the field. We are proud to carry on the legacy of Charles Traylor, who, along with his friends, built the park in the 1980s. The park was named in his honor and is now known as the Charles Traylor Memorial Park, a place where memories are made and where youth baseball continues to thrive.

At WYAA, we offer Dixie League Baseball for children ages 3-14, providing opportunities for kids to learn, play, and develop their skills throughout both the Fall and Spring seasons. Following the Spring season, we also offer All-Star play, allowing our top players to showcase their talents and compete at a higher level. The mission of Dixie Youth Baseball aligns closely with our values: “to promote the development of strong character, a right attitude, a sense of responsibility, and citizenship in youngsters using the game of baseball as a vehicle.” We believe in fostering not only athletic abilities but also the important life skills that come with playing sports.

Through hard work, dedication, and a love for the game, the Willis Youth Athletic Association continues to build a strong sense of community, helping our youth grow into responsible, confident individuals. Whether you’re a player, coach, or volunteer, being part of WYAA is about more than just baseball—it’s about making a lasting impact in the lives of our young athletes and teaching them values that will serve them for a lifetime.
